Parent information regarding Thunderstruck Weekend

Here are a few final points regarding what is looking to be a crazy jam packed weekend!
First off, admission to the competition is free!! That's right free! Programs will be available to purchase at $10 and in that program is a $5 Thunder Buck to use towards merchandise that will be available. I also want to stress the fact that video taping and photography will not be allowed and they have made a point to all studios that this will be enforced throughout the weekend. There will be pictures available on site for each number so you might wish to take advantage of it for those memories. :0)
Parents are allowed in the change rooms but will have NO access to backstage. Please keep in mind that the change room area is not large and there will be many people so please use commonsense with regards to going down stairs. There will be quick change rooms set up for the dancer's (they will be in the green room area where parents are not allowed) so you dancer will be taken care of. I would strongly suggest sending your dancer with face and hair done. Please send along makeup and any extra hair accessories/product for touch ups.
Dancers should be there an hour prior to performance time. They run in order and on time. Allowances will be made for those who have quick changes but numbers will not be held up for absent dancers. So please keep this in mind when planning rides.
Anyone registered for Off the Charts warm up is 8:30 but doors open at 8:00 at the Valhalla.

Just a reminder to all parents who are not travelling with their dancer that they must have a parent who will be responsible for the dancer on the bus  and also have any documents required to take a minor out of country.

pointe update and otc workshop

Ladies the update did not give an exact time for Drumline. The session is would fall into appears to start at. I am hoping they will forward more information and when I get it I will let you all know.

Anyone doing or interested in doing the workshop it starts at 8:30 and runs until 3:45. From 4 to 5 there will be a tap class with a dancer who danced with Gregory Hines so it should be pretty cool.

This is the first draft and studios have until Monday at 6 to submit any problems so this schedule may change a little but the changes would be slight and should only effect times. There are 2 issues that I have addressed already and if there are any changes I will post them when I get them.

cosmetic update

You can add to your list of things they need to include Cover Girl lipstick/gloss 560 Wildberry (this is the same as last year) and when I was at Shoppers the Revlon Colorstay gel liner was on sale (black).
After checking everywhere (including Sephora while I was in Toronto) the glitter/sparkles we will be using are again the same as last year Gosh Holographic.

Some have been asking about the liquid glitter liner and I think it's great but please get the gel liner too. The glitter doesn't offer enough pigment to show on stage but it does add a nice touch of glamour!!

Thunderstruck 2012

As we head in to competition season here are a few things you will need for Thunderstruck
eye shadow trio  Auto Expose by Smashbox
blush Revlon Smoky Rose
black gel liner/mascara/false eyelashes
foundation
bobby  pins in the colour closest your dancer's hair colour/hair nets
hair gel/spray
lipstick and glitter to come!

 If you have last years eye palette you should be ok (but check out the smash box it's so easy to put on and blend)
There will be a makeup session on Sunday February 12th . How to's will be discussed and best practices. If you want help or advice on stage makeup please make a point of coming. The parent committee will be forwarding an email to everyone with the time.
I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity as it will make show night much less stressful and more relaxed for everyone.
